Are you tired of having cordless vacuums that don’t suck anything in? Or a vacuum that has really small storage? Or tired of searching for a new one? Don’t worry, we have found a solution. We would like to introduce the Dyson v8. We chose this because it satisfies the fundamentals of being a good vacuum cleaner. For example, it holds enough storage, does not weigh much, lasts for a while, vacuums well, and has many tools at its disposal.
Design and Build Quality
The Dyson vacuum is quite small, as it should be for a cordless vacuum. It consists of a battery, motorhead, and a long arm that can attach multiple attachments. It has two switches called “HIGH SUCTION EXTENDED RUN,” which is the normal setting, and it has “MAX SUCTION,” which is the powerful setting. Furthermore, you can find the dust box on the bottom. Moreover, Dyson designed a highly efficient filtration system that removes allergens when collecting dust. The best part about this model is the attachments given. They can be used in a variety of scenarios and do a successful job.
Key Features of the Vacuum
One of the best features would be the variety of different attachments in its arsenal. Think about it; in total, you could have eight attachments (If you buy the full package). The number of attachments is something most vacuums will not have at their disposal. Another plus is the carpet cleaning ability. My house has a bunch of carpets, and whenever someone just drops a powder of some sort, this comes in handy. What’s more, if there is a thicker or bigger piece of waste on the ground, no fear! You can change the vacuum head, which is more suitable for picking up larger waste.
Likewise, filtration is also another pro. See here, the v8 has a HEPA system that stops us from breathing in the dust. Most vacuums do not have this particular filtration system, which can be a health hazard. Suction Power and Performance
After careful consideration, this is better suited to floors that have carpet than tiles. First, I vacuumed the low carpet with rice, sugar, and oats. The vacuum collected the types of crumbs with ease, and the same goes for high carpets.
However, when trying it on tiles, it had very skewed results. The sugar was fine; however, the rice provided different results. As I vacuumed it (slowly) the rice just went everywhere. Cleaning up thicker objects on tiles is not ideal for the normal vacuum head. Just make sure you do not vacuum your AirPods on the carpet accidentally. But overall, this is a great vacuum cleaner and surpasses many other cordless vacuums for vacuum ability.
Is the Vacuum High Maintenance?
Most cordless vacuums require 1-2 months of maintenance. The same goes for this. However, you only need to change the bin every 3-4 months as well. But honestly, this machine is so durable and reliable. I have been using this for nearly about 3 years and it is still running well. No issues, well, actually battery because any battery life will reduce the longer it is used. But overall it’s durable and reliable enough to last a long time.
Is the Vacuum Easy to Use?
When I was holding the model, it was average, especially in the weight category and ease of use. I say this because the distribution of the weight on the model makes it harder on the forearms. It is only 1.5kg, but by itself, it feels like 3kg. Ergonomic-wise, this is impeccable and comparable to the other vacuums I have used. Despite the heaviness, you maintain good posture and do not require you to overexert yourself to collect waste.
I will say that it is very flexible to the point where you could replace a vacuuming drone for these with minimal effort and high effectiveness. It is also easy to move around furniture. For example, let’s say that you are cleaning around your couch and there is waste in specific corners. The Dyson v8 will pick it up easily because the motorhead attachment is flexible.
Finally, if we talk about their attachments, they all serve their purpose. The combination tool collects waste from small-medium areas, the crevice tool collects in small areas, flexi crevice tool is for small areas that are hard to collect. There are more attachments, but I will let you readers find out for yourself because they are all astonishing.
The Dyson v8’s Battery Life
The Dyson v8 will last you a while when vacuuming, so it will not die out soon. 40 minutes is what you get on the extended run, which is better than most cordless vacuums in the market. However, when you switch it to max suction, the vacuum will last you only 7 minutes. Additionally, this also has a reasonably high charging time of 5.5 hours, which is quite long for only 40 minutes or 7 minutes of use.
Is This Vacuum Worth It?
In my honest opinion, I’m going to say this is worth every penny when it is on sale. All the features are great—the attachments, vacuum ability, design, maneuverability, and ease of use are well above standard. Nonetheless, it has some minor issues such as high charging times, short max suction duration, and being quite heavy, etc.
In conclusion, despite the smaller nuisances such as the rice scattering everywhere, this is an exceptional cordless vacuum that brings more bang for their buck. I regularly use this vacuum and recommend it to those who want a medium-end cordless vacuum.
