ChatGPT has been released for a while now, and it already has a million users. There is a reason why these programs are booming right now, and that is because it is the beginning of robots taking over humans. Just joking! This program utilizes machine learning to handle human queries by replying with human-like responses, which is crazy. This has motivated other companies such as Google and Microsoft to create their own A.I. models, and I guarantee there will be a lot more in the future.
A.I. is starting to make lives a bit more easier
A.I. has a foreseen future to make human life more relaxing than it currently is. Even now, if you work in IT, ChatGPT has got your back. For example, this can be utilized for programmers. Let’s say they need to solve a problem where the next step is so time-consuming that the programmer cannot be bothered to do it. They can use ChatGPT! They can input their problem, and ChatGPT can create the solution they need. This is one way of making someone’s life easier. Additionally, other industries it can support are healthcare, personalization, automation, and autonomous vehicles.
A.I. is a genie in a computer
If you have any questions on your mind, go to ChatGPT. It is your go-to for most things. However, if you start to replace the Google search engine with A.I., you have made a grave mistake. And if you’re thinking, “Hey if this can answer all my questions, why not switch from Google to this?” Well, you’re quite wrong, my friend… for now.
Chatgpt is utilising a small stack of data to answer question. Due to this, it has limited knowledge of information at its disposal. Currently, Google lives in a vast sea of data. This only means that A.I. units, such as ChatGPT, are likely to answer questions incorrectly due to the limited data they have been trained on. The answer might seem right and probably is right, but there is a chance it is wrong. But this doesn’t mean A.I. might not replace Google in the future. Once future A.I. advances, its developers will be able to provide more real-time data, which could potentially become more accurate and easier to research compared to Google.
How A.I. will change the future!
We can expect A.I. to help humans more than to replace them. For instance, A.I. will be a tool for humans when assigned repetitive tasks. If humans struggle with repetitive tasks, A.I. can take over. Although that poses a problem for humans whose jobs cannot be performed by A.I. This will mean that only certain jobs will be replaced by A.I.
To counter this issue for humans, we need to work harder to match up to their standards!
You should see Tesla’s autopilot, which performs very well. Imagine in the next 50 years, it could probably drive under almost every road condition. A.I. is already powerful enough by itself, but with the combination of quantum computing (when there are more of them in the future), it would make A.I. so powerful that it would be unfair. If you don’t know what quantum computing is, check out my article quantum computing, and how its the next big thing! A.I. will create automatic changes in finance and banking, robotics, research, programming, driving, etc.
Students should proceed with caution when using A.I.
Calling all students out there, watch out! Using these artifical genies in schools is pretty much a “F” risk. Students will be more prone to cheating in assignments because of this newfound system. If a student enters their essay prompt in A.I., it will produce a well-written essay. This will not only be plagiarism, but it will also limit their ability to study on their own. Luckily, this issue has raised awareness at schools and universities! They have developed a system to determine whether the student has utilized A.I. or not. So to all the students out there, just be careful if you use ChatGPT or A.I. to your advantage because there is a good chance your school is one step ahead of you!
Although in some ways it will not create a big difference
You have heard how A.I. is changing the world, and it’s true, but only in some aspects. For example, people think that A.I. will replace humans in their jobs, which is laughable. This is simply because most language models currently require humans to tell them what to do. A.I. requires a user to input information to instruct it. Realistically, we can expect humans to work side by side with machine learning models.
There are some areas where will not typically thrive are empathy, dexterity, creativity, etc. For instance, do you think A.I. can do therapy, psychology, preach, sing, teach… very well? Typically, these types of occupations require a “human touch” where A.I. will struggle. For those of you who have jobs that generally involve regular interactions with humans, you will be safe for now. But yes, the only difference it will make is in jobs that handle objects.
Ethical considerations of future A.I. use
One of the biggest risks that can occur in the future is bias. The data that the model is using can effect the overall outcome of the model. If the data used has mass inequality or extreme outcomes, the system might over-prioritize those outcomes.
For instance, if a medical diagnosis A.I. is exposed to a dataset with rare and extreme cases, it might overemphasize those cases, affecting its ability to accurately diagnose common conditions. Another concern is the privacy of the data. If the A.I. model has collected personal information, it would need to abide by security protocols to avoid any data breaches or unauthorized access.
Finally, the last consideration is employment. A.I. can select specfic candidates for a job. For example, the system might favour employees who desire a high paycheck or employees of a certain age, which is discriminatory.
